UAE workers can report 11 types of labour violations to MOHRE

In the UAE, workers and members of the public have the ability to report 11 distinct types of labor violations to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). These include forced labor, sexual harassment, unpaid end-of-service benefits, and excessive overtime. Should disputes arise between an employer and a domestic worker, and an amicable resolution cannot be reached, the affected party can file a labor complaint through the channels provided by MOHRE, initiating the formal review process.

The ministry has identified 11 specific categories of reports that can be submitted. These encompass fake Emiratisation practices, forced labor and human trafficking, non-compliance with Emiratisation requirements, sexual harassment, non-payment of end-of-service benefits, excessive working hours, breaches of heat-stress protection rules, breaches of labor accommodation requirements, employing workers in violation of regulations, breaches of occupational health and safety requirements, and failure to grant annual leave, payment in lieu, or to carry forward unused leave.

MOHRE's community reporting service enables members of the public to flag unlawful practices at establishments, contributing to enhanced oversight and improved compliance levels across the labor market. Complaints can be submitted via the MOHRE UAE app, the ministry's website, or by contacting the Labour Claims and Advisory Centre on 80084. The ministry recently completed 16 million AI-powered digital transactions during the first half of 2026.
