Trump's White House releases deportation video games

On September 3, the White House of U.S. President Donald Trump introduced an online gaming website featuring classic arcade games with a MAGA (Make America Great Again) twist. These games allow players to deport migrants and construct a border wall. Human rights organizations swiftly condemned the release of these games, particularly a game called Rio Run, a modernized version of the Snake game.

In Rio Run, a digital version of U.S. border czar Tom Homan chases migrants with different skin colors alongside the Rio Grande river on the Mexican border. Another game, Build the Wall, is based on the block-stacking game Tetris. The instructions for this game encourage players to protect the border from an incoming "horde." A third game involves collecting nets to place in so-called "Trump accounts" - investment accounts with a $1,000 deposit for children born in 2025 through 2028.

The White House defended the initiative, stating that it aims to resonate with every American and highlight the administration's achievements. However, rights groups argue that the games dehumanize and ridicule migrants, likening the administration's actions to a game rather than a serious issue.
