Transfer ban delay intended to derail FAM campaign, claims KLFA chief

Kuala Lumpur FA (KLFA) president Syed Yazid Syed Omar has accused a former player and ex-staffer of deliberately delaying the removal of a FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club. This, he claims, was done to incite public anger and prevent Syed Yazid from becoming the FAM vice-president. The registration problems led to a RM50,000 fine and a 3-0 loss to Negri Sembilan, as well as a poor 10-man defeat against Kuching City.

According to Syed Yazid, the former staff member called 20 times to confirm payment to FIFA, but they remained silent, waiting until just before the match to inform FIFA. He alleged that rival groups were using the registration issues and poor performances to damage his reputation ahead of the FAM elections. Syed Yazid held an emergency meeting with the club's Ultras and police authorities before a crucial match against DPMM, presenting medical documents and financial records to counter the growing unrest.

He conceded that his campaign for the FAM vice-presidency had been hampered by the crisis, forcing him to focus on resolving the club's problems first. Syed Yazid plans to hold a press conference once the club finalizes its appeal, revealing the screenshots and evidence of the ex-staffer's alleged involvement.
