Three freight cars overturn after derailment in Chonburi

CHONBURI — Three freight cars derailed and overturned in Chonburi province on Friday afternoon, resulting in no injuries or fatalities. The incident was reported to the Mueang Chonburi Police Station around 15:00 on 4 September 2026. The derailment took place near a railway crossing in Moo 1, Nong Khang Khok subdistrict of the Mueang Chon Buri district.

Police responded to the scene and collaborated with pertinent authorities to evaluate the situation and restore the railway line. The train, originating from Hua Takhe in Bangkok and bound for Laem Chabang, derailed en route. Three freight cars left the tracks and overturned near the railway, causing damage to the vehicles and leading to concern among nearby residents.

No injuries or deaths were reported. Rail services along the affected route were disrupted, and authorities dispatched personnel and equipment to inspect the tracks and initiate the recovery of the overturned cars. Efforts were also underway to clear the railway line and resume normal train operations as swiftly as possible.
