Teacher 'beats’ schoolchildren in Sagara taluk

Three students at a government primary school in Kiruvase, near Karur in Sagara taluk, were allegedly beaten by a guest teacher on Thursday, resulting in bruises. The incident was reported to the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Sagara on Thursday evening, who rushed to the village with officials to assess the situation. The teacher, named Rakshitha, allegedly struck a grade 2, grade 3, and grade 4 student with a stick, causing visible marks on their backs.

The teacher, who was appointed in July this year for the school of five students, had no colleagues and was the sole educator at the school. The BEO revealed that Rakshitha was promptly relieved of her duties. Officials are currently investigating the incident, and the teacher's actions have sparked public outrage and demands for appropriate disciplinary measures.
