Streit im BSW: Regierungskrise in Thüringen – BSW-Fraktion zerfällt

Erfurt – The government crisis in Thuringia has intensified as nine more BSW deputies are planning to leave their party and the BSW faction within the Landtag. According to dpa information, the nine deputies include all three BSW ministers – Vice-Chancellor and Finance Minister Katja Wolf, Digital Minister Steffen Schütz, and Environment Minister Tilo Kummer.

The BSW faction had reduced from twelve members after the departure of three deputies earlier in the week. The fate of the government coalition comprising CDU, SPD, and BSW remains unclear. Fraktion and party leaders are scheduled to issue a statement at 11:00 AM in Erfurt's Landtag. The nine deputies, Stefan Wogawa, Roberto Kobelt, and Dirk Hoffmeister, have already left the party and the faction and intend to form a parliamentary group called "Deine Stimme zählt."

The BSW is part of the coalition government in the Free State of Thuringia, along with CDU and SPD. The alliance has consistently lacked a majority in the Landtag, relying on pacts with the opposition AfD and Linke parties, which have held 44 of the 88 seats.
