Stop blaming Tinubu for insecurity – Fintiri tells Northern leaders

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has urged Northern Nigerian leaders to assume responsibility for regional insecurity and seek lasting solutions, rather than blaming President Bola Tinubu. Addressing the Adamawa All Progressives Congress stakeholders' engagement in Yola on Thursday, Fintiri criticized the tendency among some Northerners to lay blame on Southern presidents for security issues.

He pointed out that former President Goodluck Jonathan was accused of creating conditions that led to the emergence of Boko Haram, but noted that the insurgents were from the same region. "But honestly, we are all aware that Boko Haram members are our people, not people from Southern Nigeria," Fintiri stated. The governor also asserted that President Tinubu had not cheated Northern Nigeria since taking office, while accusing some Northern leaders of failing to deliver good governance and address their people's challenges.
