Sokoto: Five killed, three injured in Kebbi bandit attack

The Sokoto State Police Command has reported that five individuals were killed and three others injured in a recent bandit attack on communities in Kebbe Local Government Area. According to the DAILY POST, this incident occurred on Thursday evening in Girkau community and surrounding settlements within Girkau Ward. Reports also suggest that residents were confronted with additional threats, including abductions and cattle rustling.

DSP Ahmed Rufai, the command's spokesperson, confirmed the details of the attack in a telephone interview with journalists on Friday. He stated, "Five persons were killed, three others were injured, while unspecified animals were rustled in the attack." Rufai also acknowledged that the police force is still collecting additional information, such as the number of residents who may have been abducted.

He assured residents that authorities are fully committed to safeguarding lives and property in the impacted communities. "The police and other security agencies remain committed to protecting the lives and property of the people. We will continue to respond to security threats and work with communities to ensure their safety."
