Silo Season 3s twisty ending, explained

Silo Season 3 delivered its most shocking episode last week, but the finale may have outdone itself. The closing episode of the post-apocalyptic series knits the present-day silos with the flashback storyline following congressman Daniel Keene and journalist Helen Drew. The show leaves many questions unanswered, from mysterious goings-on in Silo 1 to terminology like "The Project" and "The Directive."

In the finale, it's revealed that Daniel Keene is still alive, having been cryogenically frozen and woken to deal with security incidents in Silo 1. He now goes by the name Troy and seems to have lost his memory, except for glimpses of Helen Drew. Meanwhile, in Silo 18, Juliette and her allies fight to protect themselves from the poisonous gas delivered through the pipe. Victor, who is still alive in Silo 1, dies by suicide, leaving a video for Daniel/Troy to watch, revealing Helen's name.

Season 4 will likely focus on the conflict between the people of Silo 18 and Silo 1, with more focus on Juliette and flashbacks to Silo 1's characters. Additionally, questions remain about what lies outside the silos and the significance of The Directive and The Project.
