Sheikh Khaled urges Adnoc to further strengthen role as leading global energy provider

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, recently emphasized the pivotal role played by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) in an "increasingly complex global energy landscape". As Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Khaled directed Adnoc to further fortify its standing as a leading energy provider, capable of managing production, trading, and logistics.

During a meeting chaired by Sheikh Khaled at Adnoc's headquarters, the Crown Prince reviewed the company's efforts to ensure a steady energy supply amidst recent challenges affecting maritime navigation in the region. The UAE has consistently advocated for its right to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, while simultaneously seeking diplomatic resolutions to the ongoing Iran conflict.

Sheikh Khaled also assessed Adnoc's operational and financial performance. He received an update on the functioning of Adnoc's global liquefied natural gas (LNG) marketing and trading platform, which was launched in July 2021. This platform aims to achieve a marketable LNG volume of 47 million tonnes per annum by 2030 and intends to expand customers' access to a more diverse range of supply sources, thereby bolstering their connection to Adnoc's expanding gas portfolio.

The Crown Prince highlighted Adnoc's operational agility and integration as key factors strengthening the company's capacity to serve its clientele effectively.

Prior to the meeting, Sheikh Khaled paid a visit to Adnoc's emergency control center and engaged with frontline employees and business continuity teams across the Adnoc Group. He lauded their unwavering dedication and commitment to maintaining safe and efficient operations under all circumstances. The meeting, which also featured representatives from various governmental ministries and organizations, underscored the importance of collaboration in ensuring the resilience and reliability of Abu Dhabi's energy sector.
