Seth Meyers and Sal Gentile Joke They’ve ‘Finally Learned Something’ From Trump in Latest ‘Closer Look’ Podcast

Seth Meyers and his "Late Night" team may not be fans of former President Donald Trump, but they admitted on Thursday that they have "finally learned something" from him: the value of both-sidesing. During the latest episode of "A Closer Look Out of Office," Meyers and "A Closer Look" writer Sal Gentile playedfully teased the podcast's title.

While Meyers introduced the series as "A Closer Look: Proof of Life," Gentile corrected him, emphasizing the true name. Nevertheless, the duo decided to go with both titles for consistency. Meyers remarked, "Yeah. Because we're learning the value in not staking out one position." Gentile agreed, laughing and adding, "You know what?

After 10 years, we've finally learned something from Donald Trump, which is we take every position on the issue, at any point." This statement pertained to the current status of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had falsely claimed that the U.S. controlled the Strait and planned to declare it a territory soon. In reality, the U.S. had intensified military strikes in the region.
