Security forces kill 48 terrorists in separate Balochistan operations: ISPR

Security forces carried out multiple intelligence-led operations in Balochistan over the last 48 to 72 hours, resulting in the death of 48 terrorists, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The attacks targeted Indian-backed militants linked to two groups, Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khwarij.

The operations unfolded in four locations: Mastung, Quetta, Kalat, and Sibi districts. In Mastung on September 4, security forces engaged a group of terrorists, leading to six deaths and the destruction of a munitions cache and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

In Quetta's Shaban area, four militant hideouts were identified during an intelligence-led operation. Following an exchange of fire, 26 terrorists were killed. Meanwhile, in Kalat's militant hideout, two more were eliminated. In Bhag, Sibi district, troops, collaborating with the local population, thwarted an attack on a police station, with two terrorists succumbing to gunfire.

The ISPR reported that 48 terrorists had been killed across Balochistan during this period. Ongoing "sanitisation" operations aimed at eliminating any remaining militants were underway. The military emphasized that the counter-terrorism campaign, aligned with the government-approved "Azm-e-Istehkam" framework, would persist with full intensity to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
