Security forces kill 48 terrorists in 'high-tempo' Balochistan operations over 72 hours: ISPR

Over the last 48 to 72 hours, security forces in Pakistan's Balochistan region have carried out multiple "high-tempo" anti-terror operations, resulting in the elimination of 48 terrorists, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). These operations took place in the Mastung, Quetta, Kalat, and Sibi districts. The ISPR identified the terrorists as belonging to Indian proxies, the Fitna-al-Hindustan, and the Fitna-al-Khawarij, a designation for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In Mastung district, security forces identified and engaged terrorists, killing six "Indian-sponsored terrorists" during an exchange of fire. A cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was also recovered and destroyed. In Quetta district, security forces identified four Khwarij hideouts and, after an exchange of fire, killed 26 terrorists.

In Kalat district, a terrorist hideout was raided, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists. Meanwhile, in Sibi district, terrorists attempted to raid a local police station, but security forces thwarted their plans, killing two terrorists.

The surge in terrorist activities in Balochistan has been a cause for concern, with recent attacks including a coordinated assault on the Customs House in Pishin district, which resulted in the deaths of 10 TTP terrorists and two officers. Other incidents include the attack on a convoy carrying vehicles from the Reko Diq copper and gold project and a separate attack on a police station, bank, and the assistant commissioner's office in Bhag city, resulting in the injury of five people. The provincial government emphasized the bravery of the police in foiling the coordinated attack.
