Second-half goals lift Iowa State past Missouri State

On Thursday night, Iowa State Cyclones secured a 2-0 victory over Missouri State Bears at the Cyclone Sports Complex. Sophomore Sophie Forrester was the hero of the game, scoring both goals. The win improved Iowa State's season record to 4-2-1, while Missouri State fell to 2-3-1. After a scoreless first half, the Cyclones took the lead in the second period, controlling 62 percent of the possession and outshooting the Bears 13-4 after the intermission.

Sophomore Alaina Villa put the team ahead at the 63:37 mark, assisted by defender Erin Hopewell. Iowa State maintained their advantage and sealed the victory in the 87th minute (86:44), as sophomore Megan Walters added a second goal, also unassisted. Sophomore Eme McClenahan made three crucial saves, securing a clean sheet. Missouri State's Kate Lewis made five saves but absorbed the loss.

The Cyclones dominated the game, totaling 20 shots and 8 corner kicks, while the Bears had 12 shots and 2 corner kicks. A total of 174 fans attended the match.
