Roy Keane, a seven-time Premier League winner, has taken aim at the Expected Goals (xG) statistic with his trademark wit. The controversial former Manchester United midfielder appeared on the latest episode of Stick to Football on Sky Sports, where he offered a humorous take on the popular modern statistical metric.

Keane began by asking a rhetorical question: "Do you know what that stat is?" He then proceeded to illustrate his point with a memorable analogy: "Years ago, when you'd go to a nightclub back in the day, and you'd chat to a girl all night, but you go home by yourself. What's your xG?"
