Report: LSU football aiming to add former Broncos cornerback

LSU football appears to be on the verge of adding a new cornerback to their roster, according to reports. CBSSports' Matt Zenitz recently revealed that LSU is targeting former Utah and Denver Broncos cornerback Blake Cotton. LSU has been proactive in signing fifth-year players recently, and Cotton is one of several players embroiled in a legal battle after beginning their collegiate careers in 2022.

A preliminary injunction from a Baton Rouge judge on Thursday has cleared the way for Cotton, along with Dae Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, to potentially return to the collegiate ranks. While Wright and Harris are already practicing with LSU, Cotton's status is still under review. There are still several hurdles to overcome, including officially adding the players to the roster by Friday and dealing with the SEC's appeal of Thursday's ruling, which could extend into the season.

However, if LSU successfully adds these players, they could bolster their secondary with valuable experience.
