PAS-BN talks gain momentum ahead of GE16, Abdul Hadi confirms

Negotiations between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) are underway, showing positive progress, according to PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang. Hadi confirmed that discussions between PN and BN have commenced, but noted they have not yet reached a final agreement. The experience from previous cooperation in Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections is being factored into the current talks.

PAS remains open to negotiations with parties that have strong Malay support. Hadi warned against using corruption as political ammunition to bring down opponents, stressing that the issue should be addressed through law enforcement fairly and without political selectivity. He also expressed regret over weaknesses in the management of public funds and government-linked companies, suggesting these matters should be addressed in courts rather than debated in the media.

Hadi warned that a government dominated by non-Muslim groups, particularly under a Pakatan Harapan administration, would be most vulnerable to threats to the objectives of Islamic law.
