Nintendo Confirms 2 Nintendo Direct Broadcasts for Next Week, Including a Dedicated Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Broadcast

Nintendo has announced two Nintendo Direct broadcasts for next week, one of which will focus on the 40th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda franchise. The Zelda Direct is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8 at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK time, lasting 30 minutes. The event is expected to cover updates on the Zelda series, including the Ocarina of Time remake, and possibly the first look at the upcoming live-action movie.

Following the Zelda Direct, Nintendo will hold a 45-minute general Direct the next day, on Wednesday, September 9, before a 110-minute Nintendo Treehouse stream. The latter is likely to showcase additional gameplay for titles featured in the Direct broadcasts. Fans are eagerly anticipating the detailed reveal of the Ocarina of Time remake, as Nintendo has confirmed its release this year.

The upcoming Switch 2 games, such as Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave (September 17) and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort (October 22), are expected to be highlighted during the main Direct. However, beyond these announcements, Nintendo has not disclosed much about its 2027 game lineup. Speculation exists regarding a potential long-awaited 3D Mario game, though it remains uncertain.
