Nintendo announces Nintendo Direct events for Sept. 8 and 9: How to watch, what to expect

Nintendo has announced two Nintendo Direct livestreams, one on September 8 and another on September 9, both beginning at 10 a.m. ET. The first event will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series and is expected to last approximately 30 minutes, potentially revealing gameplay footage from the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2.

This highly anticipated game is considered one of the all-time greats in the franchise. There may also be limited edition controllers or a Zelda-themed Switch 2 console or bundle announced during this event.

Following the Zelda-themed Direct, a more general livestream focusing on non-Zelda titles coming to Nintendo platforms is scheduled for September 9. The 45-minute event could include trailers, news, and potentially a release date for FromSoftware's The Duskbloods, which had a successful closed beta on Switch 2 in August. Other potential announcements may concern Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Xenoblade Genesis.

While it's unclear what the full content of the second Direct will entail, it may contain information about upcoming games or the possibility of new releases. Both livestreams will be available on Nintendo's YouTube channel, with the first event streaming at 10 a.m. ET on September 8 and the second at 10 a.m. ET on September 9.
