Nine class VIII students arrested for sexually harassing schoolboy in Thoothukudi

Nine students from a government higher secondary school in Thoothukudi district were arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually harassing a Class VIII schoolmate. The arrests came after a complaint was lodged by the victim's parents at the Vilathikulam All Women Police Station. The nine students, who allegedly sexually harassed the victim since Class VII, also threatened him with further harassment if he informed authorities.

Recently, the students harassed the victim again on school premises, prompting their arrest. The students were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and held at an observation home for boys in Tirunelveli.
