Nasarawa police rescue kidnap victim, arrest 11 suspected armed robbers

The Nasarawa State Police Command rescued a kidnapped woman and apprehended 11 suspects involved in armed robbery, according to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel. The victim, Favour Innocent, was abducted from her home in Ajyga Village on August 3, 2026, and was rescued the next morning in the Nunku Forest area of Akwanga Local Government Area.

She received medical attention at the Primary Health Centre in Andaha and was discharged in stable condition before being reunited with her family.

In a separate incident, the police received information about armed robbers invading a guest house in Masaka's Area One early Friday morning. Patrol officers were immediately deployed to the scene, and upon sighting the patrol vehicle, the suspects fled but were pursued to their hideout. Nine adults and two minors were arrested during the operation, identified as Auwal Yunusa, Saltsu Kabiru, Umar Saleh, Abubakar Hassan, Musa Yahaya, Seth Aaron, Victor Hyelanpali, Gift Ezra, and Suleiman Abdullahi, with James Ayuba and Fahad Abubakar being minors.

Items recovered included a locally made revolver, cutlasses, knives, SIM cards, counterfeit currencies, and original documents belonging to Kabiru Abubakar. The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover additional stolen property.
