Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti Gives Updates On Crime, Drugs, Cyber Fraud & Law & Order

Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti provided updates on various ongoing investigations and enforcement drives. He mentioned threats to actor Aamir Khan, the Baba Siddique murder case, Lawrence Bishnoi, cybercrime, drugs, illegal immigration, traffic violations and action against habitual criminals. Bharti clarified that there is no specific system for DJ permission in Mumbai and stressed that police follow the Bombay High Court's directions on noise levels. Action will be taken against violators.

Regarding threats to Aamir Khan, the Crime Branch is conducting an inquiry. Police are investigating whether the threats were genuine or hoaxes through VoIP calls. Security has been provided to MLC Zeeshan Siddiqui. Underworld activity in Mumbai has declined due to strict police action. Lawrence Bishnoi is being pursued, but police must wait for a court order to vacate.

The Pydhonie Watermelon incident investigation found no sabotage or involvement of other persons. One person was arrested for the GN Saibaba event case, and another accused obtained bail.

Mumbai Police have intensified awareness campaigns against cyber fraud, particularly digital arrest scams, resulting in a significant increase in the percentage of frozen fraud money. Mobile phone theft recovery rate is 51%, and 1,606 drug-related consignments/items have been seized this year. Anti-Narcotics Action includes invoking MCOCA against 34 drug peddlers and PIT-NDPS Act against 13 accused.

Action against pan shops near schools and colleges, traffic violations, and habitual criminals have been addressed. 754 habitual criminals have been taken into action under externment/Tadipaar provisions.
