McCain Foods taps PepsiCo exec as chief manufacturing and operations officer

McCain Foods has appointed Victoriano Perez Mies, a former PepsiCo executive, as its new chief manufacturing and operations officer. The company confirmed the appointment to C-Store Dive, though they did not provide further details on the matter. Peter Dawe, president of McCain's global snacking business, expressed confidence in Mies' deep operational expertise and people-first leadership style.

Mies will assume global leadership of McCain's manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, environmental health and safety, quality, procurement, and operations functions. He joins the company after nearly two decades at PepsiCo, where he held various global leadership roles, including serving as senior vice president of supply chain for Europe.

Prior to his tenure at PepsiCo, Attila Tamer held the position of chief manufacturing and operations officer at McCain. McCain is a major manufacturer of frozen potato products and prepared appetizers and snacks, with a focus on the convenience channel.
