Mayor Murtaza Wahab inaugurates Rs128m dual carriageway in North Nazimabad

Mayor Murtaza Wahab officially opened a dual carriageway improvement project in Block J, North Nazimabad on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, PPP Parliamentary Leader Karamullah Waqasi, City Council members, elected representatives, and officials.

Wahab revealed that a 3,500-foot-long dual carriageway had been built in Block J at a cost of Rs128.3 million. The primary goal was to offer residents improved and secure transportation options. He emphasized that the project involved not only road construction but also the creation of a paved shoulder and a 3,500-foot-long footpath for pedestrians.

Addressing the media, Wahab criticized the practice of closing Karachi for "political gains," arguing that it deflected attention from the challenges faced by everyday citizens like daily-wage workers and traders. He also criticized the economic losses incurred by the closure of Karachi, even for a single day. Despite the sacrifices made for peace and normalcy in the city, Wahab warned against any attempts to again hold Karachi hostage.

He called on political figures to shift from confrontation and protests to constructive politics focused on building and developing the city. He stated that if such projects had been carried out previously, the current administration would not have needed to undertake them. He reiterated that improving travel facilities, roads, and basic civic infrastructure was a top priority for the city.
