Man United plan to revisit their interest in 18yo wonderkid when the transfer window opens next

Manchester United has indicated it intends to re-evaluate its interest in 18-year-old Leicester City midfielder Louis Page when the upcoming transfer window commences. Although the club had initially focused on securing a left-back during the final transfer deadline, co-owners Vijay and Julian Singh were keen to add an additional player to their squad. After securing midfield reinforcements in the form of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba, United remained determined to pursue Page.

However, the pursuit of Louis Page ultimately fell through following Leicester City's inclusion of the young talent in their starting lineup for the match against Plymouth Argyle. Moreover, financial stipulations posed a considerable challenge to the pursuit. Despite these setbacks, reports from The Athletic suggest that United has not abandoned hope of convincing Page to join them.

Laurie Whitwell, a representative of the Old Trafford club, has stated that the team will revisit their interest in the 18-year-old England Under-19 international during the next transfer window.

Page had previously declined interest from Arsenal, but his desire to join Manchester United appears strong. His transfer negotiations with United advanced to a stage where a deal seemed plausible, contingent upon Leicester's valuation which was reportedly £12 million plus an additional £3 million. The impasse between the two clubs over the player's worth ultimately led to the lack of a completed deal.

Nevertheless, United may have an advantage over their rivals by arranging a loan back to Leicester should Page decide to make the move during the winter transfer window.
