Madina Police arrest two lorry station masters over alleged plot to kill creditor over ₵91K debt

Two Ashaley Botwe lorry station masters, Abubakari Ateni and Eric Tetteh, have been apprehended by the Madina Divisional Police Command. The suspects, aged 44 and 45 respectively, are accused of plotting to murder Esther, a woman who demanded repayment of ₵91,810. The alleged scheme emerged from a misunderstanding between Esther and Abubakari over the debt.

In the original plan, Abubakari was to strangle Esther, but it proved difficult. Consequently, the pair allegedly hired a serial killer to commit the murder while Abubakari was driving her home, disguising the act as a robbery. The hired killer, a community volunteer and police collaborator, received ₵2,000 upfront and a further ₵3,000 upon completing the task.

The police thwarted the plot when the hired killer was about to carry out the murder. Chief Superintendent Dr. Aba Afari has pledged the police's dedication to safeguarding lives and property, commending the officers who uncovered the alleged murder plot. The suspects are currently in police custody as the investigation proceeds.
