Luis Enrique signs new deal to extend PSG stay

Paris Saint-Germain's head coach Luis Enrique has signed a three-year contract extension with the club, according to PSG's announcement on Friday. The Spaniard's previous contract would have ended at the conclusion of the current season but he has now committed to the Ligue 1 giants until 2030. This news came ahead of PSG's upcoming Ligue 1 match against Monaco at the Parc des Princes.

PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi expressed his excitement in a statement, stating that the players represented the present and future of the club's project. Together, al-Khelaifi said, they aim to build for the long term, stay true to their values, and continue writing a story that fans can be proud of.

Enrique, accompanied by those five Champions League winners, received a warm welcome from the home fans upon announcing the contract extensions. The former Barcelona and Spain boss was appointed PSG coach ahead of the 2023/24 season with the goal of leading the team to a long-awaited European Cup victory. Enrique achieved this with a dominant 5-0 final win over Inter Milan in the 2025 Champions League final. PSG subsequently defended their title by defeating Arsenal on penalties in May.

Since Enrique took charge of the team, the Parisian club has secured three Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups. Spanish World Cup winner Lucas Beraldo, Brazilian defender Fabian Ruiz, Ecuadorian centre-half Willian Pacho, and young talent Senny Mayulu have also signed new deals, all extending until 2031.
