Lucknow ANTF Busts Drug Network, Seizes 228 Kg Narcotics & Arrests 6 In Major Crackdown

Lucknow, September 4: In a decisive crackdown against the drug trade, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) in Lucknow have dismantled a major narcotics network, seizing 228 kilograms of narcotics and arresting six individuals. The operation, conducted in Transport Nagar, was initiated after the ANTF received intelligence about the arrival of a large consignment of drugs in the area.

Surveillance led to the discovery of narcotics hidden inside sacks, resulting in the arrest of Kishan Vaswani, Sameer Ahmed, and Shad Irshad. The FSDA team collected samples of the seized medicines for laboratory analysis. Further interrogations revealed that Umesh Kumar and Satendra Singh were at the helm of the supply chain, using Satendra Singh's firm for billing narcotics.

Additional arrests were made of Umesh Kumar, Satendra Singh, and Vishal Chaurasia. The ANTF's investigation also uncovered drug-related operations involving Shad Irshad, who was previously convicted for codeine-related offenses. The recovered medicines included 9.60 lakh Alzomac-0.5 tablets, 1.20 lakh Spasmonam Plus capsules, and 720 bottles of Onerex cough syrup.

The police are continuing their investigation into the broader network, targeting the supply, billing, and distribution aspects of the illicit drug trade. All six arrested individuals have been charged under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act. The operation, carried out under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's zero-tolerance policy, demonstrates the government's commitment to eradicating drugs from Uttar Pradesh and protecting its youth from the perils of narcotics.
