Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 Series Promises Updates to Android 24

Lenovo introduced the Yoga Tab Gen 2 and Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 tablets at IFA 2026, catering to customers seeking premium Android devices for productivity and creative work. These devices combine top-tier hardware with Lenovo's extensive software support, offering seven Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. The Yoga Tab Gen 2 boasts an 11.1-inch 4K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1,100 nits of brightness, and a choice of 8GB or 12GB RAM, paired with 128GB or 256GB storage, optionally expandable.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, equipped with a 11,000mAh battery and 68W charging capacity. In contrast, the Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 features a larger 13-inch 4K PureSight Pro display, offering similar performance enhancements and options for 12GB or 16GB RAM, and 256GB or 512GB storage, expandable. It leverages Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, packs a 12,700mAh battery with the same charging capability, and includes additional audio output with six speakers and a dual rear camera setup.

Both tablets offer Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity, and will be available with optional magnetic keyboards and the Tab Pen Pro 2 stylus. Lenovo emphasizes AI features and stylus functionality to enhance productivity, drawing, and gaming experiences, with a back-mounted status light that reacts to media content.

The standout feature is Lenovo's pledge for seven major OS updates and seven years of security support, ensuring the Yoga Tab Gen 2 will transition from Android 17 to Android 24, with security coverage extending until 2033. Priced at $729 for the Yoga Tab Gen 2 and $999 for the Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2, these devices are set to launch this month.
