Jet skis buzz passenger boat off Phuket, prompting safety concerns

Four jet skis were seen speeding dangerously near a passenger boat off the coast of Phuket, Thailand, on September 3. The incident, which took place between Ao Por Pier and Koh Naka Yai, left passengers frightened as the jet skiers weaved back and forth, forcing the larger vessel to navigate cautiously. Despite crew members warning the riders to exercise caution, they persisted, splashing water onto the boat and alarming those aboard.

Although no collisions or injuries were reported, the event has sparked safety concerns regarding water travel in the region. The nationalities of the riders remain unknown, and there has been no investigation by local authorities into their identities or potential legal repercussions. This incident echoes a similar accident in January, in which a speedboat collided with a fishing vessel, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old Russian woman and injuries to 20 others.
