India turns to AI and satellites to modernise tea farming
India is using AI, satellite and drone technology to modernise tea plantation monitoring. The Tea Board, ISRO’s National Remote Sensing Centre and NIT Rourkela have launched CHAAYANKAN, a project that will use satellite imagery, weather data and field observations to detect crop stress, pests and diseases, and forecast tea yields.
