Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel to close from October 12 for major renovation

The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel will undergo a major renovation and upgrade from October 12, temporarily closing its doors as the resort prioritizes seasonal culinary offerings and immersive storytelling. The Victorian-style hotel, which has been open since 2005, will be transformed with Disney movie-themed rooms while preserving its classic charm.

Anita Lai Pui-shan, vice-president of communications and public affairs at Hong Kong Disneyland, explained, "As the world's only Disney resort backed by mountains and facing the sea, this place perfectly blends Disney magic with natural scenery, bringing guests a unique holiday experience." The renovated hotel will incorporate immersive story experiences, innovative design, and enhanced service, further solidifying Hong Kong Disneyland's leading position in regional tourism.

With the closure of the hotel, the resort's two other properties, Disney Explorers Lodge and Disney's Hollywood Hotel, will need to absorb the subsequent demand. Currently, average occupancy across all three hotels exceeds 80 percent during the summer holiday, aligning with the broader Hong Kong market. Over the coming months, the resort will introduce Halloween- and Christmas-themed dining, including halal-certified options.

Guests can look forward to the return of "Jack Skellington's The Nightmare Before Dinner" and Christmas-themed Frozen treats. In the meantime, the hotel's Crystal Lotus restaurant, known for its crystal lotus entrance and Disney character dim sum, will be closed until the renovation is finished.
