Greaves becomes first woman to win match on European Tour

Beau Greaves broke new ground in darts history by clinching the first-ever victory for a woman on the European Tour. The 22-year-old narrowly lost her debut match at the European Tour in Hungary to Rob Cross by a score of 6-5, but she proved her mettle in the Czech Open. In a thrilling encounter, Greaves edged out Daryl Gurney 6-4 in the match that followed Gurney's 6-5 victory over her in their first-round clash at the prestigious PDC World Championship in December.

At the Czech Open, Greaves demonstrated her prowess with three successive legs - 14, 13, and 11-dart finishes - to pull ahead 4-3. Despite Gurney equalizing the score at 4-4, Greaves sealed the win and etched her name in the annals of darts with a remarkable feat. "It feels amazing," Greaves expressed, her eyes glistening with emotion.

"It's just so nice to win a game; I was so nervous at the start, I don't know why. It took me so long to get settled, but luckily I did enough to win the game." The supportive crowd and the intense atmosphere at the stage fueled Greaves' motivation, leading her to enjoy the experience immensely. This victory is the latest feather in Greaves' cap, following her historic achievement of becoming the first woman to win a PDC ranking title in April and the first woman to achieve a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour in February.

Earlier this year, she also claimed the Women's World Matchplay title for the third time by defeating Fallon Sherrock. As she prepares to face world number two Luke Humphries in the second round, Greaves expressed her readiness and anticipation, acknowledging Humphries' world-class caliber while vowing to refine her game. "I've played Luke on the big stage before, so I know what to expect," she said, highlighting the need to elevate her performance.
