Gov Idris’ Special Adviser, Gado Marafa dies after prolonged illness

Muhammad Gado Suleiman Marafa, a Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, passed away due to a prolonged illness. Marafa had previously held various key positions including Commissioner for Information and Culture, Chairman of Fakai Local Government Area, and a member of Kebbi State House of Assembly. In addition, he served as Commissioner for Solid and Mineral Resources and Chair of the Board at Kebbi State Health Management Agency, KECHEMA.

His demise has elicited expressions of grief from political figures and acquaintances throughout Kebbi State, who acknowledged Marafa as a revered elder and community leader. Governor Idris conveyed his sorrow, identifying Marafa as a respected local from Fakai and a dedicated public servant. In a condolence message, the governor stated that Marafa had contributed to the development of Kebbi State and would be remembered for his service and dedication to his constituents.

He prayed for Allah to forgive Marafa's faults, accept his virtuous actions, and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. The governor also extended condolences to Marafa's family, residents of Fakai Local Government Area, and the people of Kebbi State. The family of the deceased announced that his funeral would be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the 1st Izala Juma'at Mosque in Zuru, Kebbi State, following the Juma'at prayer.
