Girls lacrosse - Fourteen Mid-Hudson stars named all-state

In a display of elite female lacrosse talent, fourteen Mid-Hudson high school players were recently recognized by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Among them, the Highland sophomore attack, Quinn Ahrenholz, was honored as a second-team choice from Class D schools, showcasing her exceptional skills.

The accolade for outstanding performance was not limited to a single position or school, as there were four third-team selections. Senior attack Ava Feliciotti from Wappingers and Monroe-Woodbury junior midfielder Rilee Kinsley were among the Class A choices, while Warwick junior midfielder Kelsy Larney represented Class B. Haldane senior attack Kayla Ruggiero was acknowledged for her prowess in Class D.

The Class A girls lacrosse team also recognized several other players; Kyra Gilligan from Monroe-Woodbury, Brooke Longo from Kingston, Sophia Rescigno from Arlington, and Rilee Kinsley from Valley Central all earned a third team selection. In Class B, Kelsy Larney again shone as a third team member, while Erin Kelly from Warwick secured a fifth team spot.

Class C recognized Ruby Powell from Rondout Valley as an honorable mention selection from the senior midfield. Lastly, in Class D, Highland sophomore attack Quinn Ahrenholz earned a second team spot, and Haldane senior attack Kayla Ruggiero was honored with a third team selection.

The Section 9 girls lacrosse coaches' all-star teams were also announced, with the Mid-Hudson players continuing to demonstrate their prowess on the field.
