From IAF to airlines: Naidu welcomes Abhinandan

Former Indian Air Force Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman Retd has taken on a new role in the civil aviation sector, marking a significant shift in his career. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu expressed his welcome to this new chapter in Abhinandan's life, stating that he is now set to connect people across India through the skies.

Abhinandan Varthaman, a Vir Chakra recipient, retired from the IAF after scoring a major victory during the Balakot operations. He was credited with downing a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet, which showcased his exceptional air combat skills and tactical acumen. During the interception, he coordinated his wingman to engage the enemy aircraft, creating chaos for the Pakistani fighters.

In addition to his remarkable combat skills, Abhinandan demonstrated remarkable courage and determination. Despite being captured by the enemy, he maintained his composure and displayed outstanding resolve throughout his ordeal. His actions not only boosted the morale of the armed forces but also the entire nation.

With this transition, Abhinandan joins Fly91, a private airline, as a commercial pilot.
