French minister reports two broken threads, no major damage on Bayeux Tapestry
French Culture Minister Catherine Pegard confirmed Friday two small tears have been noted on the 900-year-old embroidery after its recent transfer to the British Museum in London. Pegard said the 70-meter tapestry, which France has temporarily loaned to the UK, has otherwise arrived intact.
