Falcons will induct John Abraham and Bill Fralic into Ring of Honor

Atlanta, GA - On August 16, 2012, the Atlanta Falcons announced the induction of John Abraham and Bill Fralic into their Ring of Honor. Abraham will be honored on October 11 during a home game against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football, while Fralic, who passed away in 2018 at 56, will be inducted in Week 16 when the Falcons face the Buccaneers.

Abraham, a former star pass rusher, was traded to the Falcons for a first-round pick in 2006 and quickly became one of the franchise's greatest defensive players. He holds the modern franchise record for sacks with 68.5, is second in quarterback hits with 115, and holds the all-time franchise mark for forced fumbles with 25. He also holds the franchise record for sacks in a single season with 16.5.

Fralic, an eight-season veteran in Atlanta after being drafted second overall in 1985, was a two-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler. He appeared in 116 games (starting 115) and is considered one of the great guards of the 1980s and early 1990s. Fralic spent one year with the Detroit Lions and briefly considered a career in WCW, but later served as a Falcons radio commentator in the mid-1990s.

The induction of Abraham and Fralic joins a list of other notable Falcons, including quarterbacks Matt Ryan, Warrick Dunn, and Roddy White, running backs Michael Turner, wide receiver Deion Sanders, center Todd McClure, and cornerback John Abraham.
