Faizal Tahir says patriotic music works best when lyrics and melody touch the heart

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4 — Renowned singer Faizal Tahir believes that patriotic songs can be most impactful when they convey sincere lyrics and a strong melody, rather than relying on energetic arrangements. The 48-year-old musician, whose real name is Ahmad Faizal Mohammad Tahir, emphasized that such music should deliver a meaningful message, particularly to the younger generation who will one day inherit the nation's future.

Speaking to reporters at a recent Meet-and-Greet Session, Faizal highlighted the importance of adapting to the preferences of Generation Z and Generation Alpha, who may favor lighter, less complex music. However, he stressed that these works should still resonate with older generations, maintaining the values and messages they aim to convey.

Faizal's dedication to creating patriotic music stems from his two decades of experience in the industry, his role as a father, and his observations during international travels. He noted that while he cannot serve in Parliament or administer the country, representing Malaysia through his art is his way of contributing. Preparations for the 'Faizal Tahir: Suara Rakyat' concert on Oct 3 at Unifi Arena are underway, with rehearsals in full swing and attention paid to his well-being to ensure a successful performance.

The concert will feature 27 songs under the theme 'Suara Rakyat' (Voice of the People). About 80 percent of the tickets have already been sold.
