Expect road closures in Marina Bay, Padang areas for F1; train, bus service hours to be extended

Commuters are encouraged to take public transport to get to these areas from Oct 7 to 13.

The Formula One Singapore Grand Prix will bring road closures to the Marina Bay and Padang regions from October 7, lasting until October 13. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced the closures, which include Raffles Avenue, Raffles Boulevard, Esplanade Drive, and St Andrew’s Road. The roads will fully reopen by 5.30am on October 13.

During the race weekend from October 9 to 11, MRT train services and some bus services will be extended. Train services on the North East Line, Downtown Line, and Sengkang-Punggol Light Rail Transit system will be delayed by around 30 minutes to 45 minutes. On October 11, the final trains of the day will depart at different times from various stations, including HarbourFront, Bukit Panjang, Punggol, and Sengkang.

SMRT, the bus service operator, will also extend the operating hours of 16 of its services and 18 of its operators during the race weekend. Commuters are advised to use public transport and plan their journeys early due to potential delays and extended operating hours.
