Everything in a good place at Oldham - Mellon

Oldham Athletic's new boss, Micky Mellon, expressed satisfaction with the team's impressive start to the 2023-2024 season. The Latics have earned seven points from their first four matches and currently sit fifth in the League Two table. While acknowledging they may have more points, Mellon emphasized that the team is in a "good position."

Mellon highlighted the importance of maintaining their strong form, urging the team to continue working hard and striving for consistency. The club made significant additions this summer, including 11 free transfers and one loan signing, bolstering their squad depth.

Mellon remains optimistic about the team's potential, stating that they have a strong pool of players, with some capable of improving and others expected to secure starting positions in the coming months. The Oldham boss also shared his excitement about returning to his former club, Tranmere Rovers, where he achieved consecutive promotions in 2018 and 2019.

However, Mellon made it clear that his focus remains on securing points for Oldham, as Tranmere has also started the season strongly, winning one and drawing three of their opening four matches.
