El contundente mensaje de Manu Sánchez sobre Ceuta en TVE: “Piden más medios, no que vayan Ana Rosa e Iker Jiménez”

The spokesperson for the People's Party, Borja Semper, has labeled the appearance of Pedro Sánchez in Congress to address the Ceuta migration crisis, wherein 80,000 individuals crossed from Morocco, as "delirant". Semper has called for beefing up border security "with a significant police presence, far more substantial than currently exists" and "a similarly reinforced and dignified military presence" to meet the challenge at hand.

These statements came in the wake of Ceuta's government agreeing to act as a special defendant in the case being heard by Spain's Audiencia National regarding the mass influx of migrants, which they claim has "directly and seriously affected public goods and interests" of the autonomous city. Meanwhile, European Union Interior and Migration Commissioner Magnus Brunner affirmed that he achieved "significant advances" in the emergency aid request for Ceuta submitted by Spain, during a conversation with Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska.

Grande-Marlaska also informed him of the current situation and the "next steps" to complete the return of irregular migrants who entered Ceuta.
