Deltamarin’s new 40,000 dwt MR1 tanker design receives Approval in Principle from Bureau Veritas

Deltamarin's cutting-edge 40,000 dwt MR1 tanker design has secured an Approval in Principle (AIP) certificate from Bureau Veritas (BV), confirming its adherence to industry standards and emphasizing its technical innovation. This development, showcased at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg, signifies the next step in the vessel's journey towards market deployment.

Building upon their successful 50,000 dwt MR2 tanker, Deltamarin and its partner, China Merchant Shipbuilding Industry Group Yangzhou Dingheng Shipyard Co., Ltd., have jointly created another modern, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly product oil tanker for the company's growing portfolio.

This newly-approved design targets niche market demands, such as port draft limitations, short-haul voyages, and high-frequency turnover, offering a versatile solution for shipowners and operators. By focusing on energy efficiency, cargo capacity, environmental compliance, and safety, the MR1 tanker excels in four key areas, reducing sailing energy consumption and carbon emissions while maintaining structural integrity.
