Como down Genoa to go top of Serie A

Como secured the top spot in the Serie A table after a 4-1 victory over Genoa on Friday. Senegalese teenager Assane Diao netted twice in a thrilling comeback. Cesc Fabregas' side earned seven points from their first three matches of the season. Due to renovation work at their Stadio Guiseppe Sinigaglia, Como had not played a home game this term.

Genoa took the lead in the 19th minute when Milutin Osmajic capitalized on a quick counter-attack. Martin Baturina equalized six minutes later with a long-range shot. Assane Diao put Como ahead on the half-hour mark with a volley. Nico Paz extended the advantage for the visitors with a goal in 15 minutes. The 20-year-old completed his hat-trick 12 minutes from time, slotting in after brilliant hold-up play from Moise Kean, who made his debut after signing on loan from Fiorentina.
