Business community donates over Rs30m to Shahid Afridi Foundation

KARACHI: The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and the Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) have united to work on projects in healthcare, education, clean water, and skill development for youth. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was attended by KATI president Muhammad Ikram Rajput and SAF CEO Zafar Malik, alongside other notable figures including KATI president Muhammad Ikram Rajput and Sindh government spokesperson Nadir Gabol.

Over Rs30 million from the local business community was donated to the Shahid Afridi Foundation to fund its welfare programs. Shahid Afridi expressed deep gratitude for the love, respect, and honor he has received from Pakistan and Karachi, his city of talent. He shared how his philanthropic journey began with a hospital project post his father's death and expanded to remote areas in Pakistan.

KATI's president praised the role of KATI and the city's business community in Afridi's mission to serve humanity. KATI has pledged to fund the educational needs of 30 children attending the Foundation's Tee Square schools. The ceremony also touched on the importance of partnerships between the industrial community, government, and social organizations to drive social and economic development in Pakistan.

Sindh government spokesperson Nadir Gabol highlighted the potential of young talent in Lyari and proposed converting a local site into a cricket stadium managed by the Shahid Afridi Foundation, offering professional training and development opportunities for the city's youth.
