BMKG Weather Forecast: Cloudy Skies Persist Across Indonesia

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has predicted cloudy weather across a significant portion of Indonesia today, Friday, September 4, 2026. Forecaster Wahyu Annisa reported that residents of Bengkulu and Bandar Lampung in Sumatra should be cautious of smoke, while Palembang will experience hazy air. Jambi and Pangkal Pinang are forecasted to have partly cloudy skies, while Tanjung Pinang and Pekanbaru will witness thick clouds. Banda Aceh is expected to have dense clouds.

Light rain is anticipated in Medan and Padang today. In Java, Jakarta and Yogyakarta will have partly cloudy conditions, while Bandung will be cloudy, and Surabaya and Semarang will be enveloped in thick clouds. Light rain may also occur in the Serang area.

Kalimantan's Pontianak, Palangka Raya, and Samarinda are predicted to have hazy air, with Banjarmasin facing smoke or haze. Tanjung Selor in Kalimantan is expected to have light rain. Bali and Nusa Tenggara will see hazy conditions in Mataram and cloudy skies in Denpasar. Kupang will have thick clouds.

In Sulawesi, Makassar, Gorontalo, and Manado will experience scattered clouds with a sunny day, while Kendari will be cloudy. Light rain is predicted in Palu and Mamuju. Ambon in Maluku and North Maluku will be cloudy, while Ternate will have dense clouds. Cloudy skies will prevail in Manokwari and Merauke in Papua, with Sorong expecting thick cloud cover and light rain in Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya.
