Bhopal Deputy Collector Deepak Pandey Gets Additional Charge As TT Nagar SDM

Bhopal Deputy Collector Deepak Pandey has been granted an additional role as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for the TT Nagar subdivision. Collector Priyank Mishra has assigned this new responsibility to Pandey. Pandey is currently serving as the SDM for the City Circle. Deputy Collector Archana Rawat Sharma, who had been the TT Nagar SDM, has been reassigned to work in the Collectorate.

The decision came late on Thursday night, following thousands of traders staging a protest at New Market and Roshanpura Square in opposition to a sealing drive that affected both areas. Rawat Rawat visited the protest site, spoke with the traders, and accepted their memorandum. Bhopal's master plan is expected to be finalized by 2028, but relief for the protesting traders is not anticipated until then.

Deepak Pandey already holds the position of SDM for Bhopal's City Circle. With this latest order, he will be responsible for managing both the City Circle and TT Nagar subdivisions. Bhopal has eight subdivisions in total, including Beragarh, Govindpura, City Circle, Berasia, MP Nagar, TT Nagar, Kolar, and Huzur. Archana Rawat had been serving as the TT Nagar SDM for about two years.

Reports suggest she desired a transition from field duties to an office-based position. Protesters in Bhopal's Kolar area conducted a symbolic funeral to demonstrate their opposition to the shop sealing drive.
