Alabama football announces team captains for 2026 season

Alabama football has announced its team captains for the 2026 season. Ryan Coleman-Williams, Bray Hubbard, and Zabien Brown will lead the Crimson Tide in their upcoming campaign. These three players will follow in the footsteps of Parker Brailsford, Ty Simpson, Deontae Lawson, and Tim Keenan III who held the captaincy title in 2025.

Kalen DeBoer, Alabama's coach, had four captains in each of his first two seasons at the institution. Bray Hubbard, who has played as a safety for three seasons, has emerged as the primary leader in Alabama's defense. After taking over for Keon Sabb midway through the 2024 season, Hubbard has contributed significantly with 136 tackles, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks, 8 pass deflections, and 7 interceptions over his last two seasons combined. He led the SEC with 4 interceptions in 2025.

In his first two seasons at Alabama, Ryan Coleman-Williams became one of the top receivers in the country before experiencing a decline in 2025. He has 97 catches for 1,554 yards and 14 touchdowns over two seasons. Despite a tough year, Coleman-Williams is expected to make a strong comeback as a junior. Coach DeBoer has praised Coleman-Williams for his loyalty and work ethic, stating that he embraces the role of a captain and gives everything to his teammates and the team.

Zabien Brown, another captain for the 2026 season, has been a consistent contributor since joining Alabama. As a defensive back, he has accumulated 57 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, 8 pass deflections, and 5 interceptions over two seasons. Defensive back Dijon Lee Jr. has praised Brown for his quiet leadership, noting that while Brown may not be loud, he is a strong presence in the locker room, interacting with the whole team and making a positive impact on their performance.
