Aiyedatiwa Ushers in New Era of Digital Governance with Ondo Pay

The Ondo State Government officially introduced Ondo Pay, an AI-enabled platform for human resources and payroll, aiming to revolutionize workforce management, enhance payroll accuracy, and elevate the experience of civil servants. This launch signifies a significant step in the administration's commitment to a more innovative, responsive, and data-driven public service.

The Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya, emphasized that good governance hinges on reliable information, which begins with accurate records. He highlighted how the platform streamlines personnel record management, aids in workforce planning, facilitates prompt decision-making, and mitigates delays linked to conventional procedures.

Chief Odusanya acknowledged the contributions of various stakeholders, including Ministries, Departments, Agencies, the technical team, and state partners, while also highlighting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa's support and vision in pushing reforms to bolster the government machinery. He stressed the necessity of proper usage, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the system, along with maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, security, and professionalism in managing personnel data.

Ondo Pay consolidates employee records, salary computation, approvals, reporting, payroll processing, and pension migration into a secure, centralized platform. Its SmartApps AI mobile self-service application empowers authorized employees to access payslips, view salary and deduction details, update personal information, submit requests, and receive payroll notifications without frequent visits to payroll or administrative offices.

This system aims to provide the government with precise and current insight into its workforce, diminishing manual calculations, paperwork, payroll errors, duplicate or fraudulent records, and unauthorized payments. Through controlled access, authentication, auditable workflows, and the integration of Bank Verification Number information, the system bolsters effective oversight of personnel expenditure and furnishes timely reports for budgeting, workforce planning, and decision-making.

This initiative aligns with Governor Aiyedatiwa's reform agenda, which continues to leverage technology to bolster government institutions and enhance public service delivery, positioning Ondo State at the vanguard of subnational digital transformation by linking innovation to accountability, efficiency, and better outcomes for public servants and citizens.
