Zelenskyy: Prototype interceptors already developed to counter jet-powered drones

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to discuss accelerating the production of fast interceptor drones to counter jet-powered Shaheds, according to a report on Telegram. The president confirmed that Ukraine possesses manufacturers capable of undertaking this task. During the meeting, efforts were detailed to engage businesses in the production, supply, and calibration of specific air defense systems, each with set deadlines and objectives, he stated.

Zelenskyy emphasized the aim of elevating Ukraine's defense industry, in tandem with cooperation with partners, to deliver sufficient quality and quantity of fast interceptor drones, alongside affordable countermeasures, ensuring protection against escalating Russian production of fast attack systems. Additionally, Ukrainian intelligence possesses insights into Russia's plans, and resources are being allocated to counter this threat. Zelenskyy further disclosed that asymmetric operations have been approved.
